Linked to health surveillance and compliance

David Barber Occupational Health operates as a long-term delivery partner, providing occupational health services for organizations with complex workforce needs.

Our focus is rehabilitation delivered on site, close to the work itself. We deliver a bespoke range of occupational health services that bring together health surveillance, clinical assessment, and rehabilitation. Our approach looks at the whole person in the context of the job and the working environment, rather than treating physical or mental health in isolation.

Our systems provide employees with clear direction and give employers visibility over cases, progress, and outcomes. This allows occupational health to be used properly, with better results for people and less disruption for the business and the wider community.

How Our End-to-End Occupational Rehabilitation System Works

Designed around the journey of health at work, from early risk to return-to-work.Connected stages. Clear clinical oversight. Defensible outcomes.

Identify risk early

We carry out on-site health surveillance in real working environments, not from a distance. This allows us to spot emerging health risks where work is happening.

Confirm risks and controls in practice

Risk assessment and control review sit directly alongside surveillance. We look at whether controls are effective in day-to-day operations.

Assess fitness where risk tolerance is low

We provide structured medical assessments with clear fitness-to-work outcomes. Decisions are evidence-based in a way that stands up to scrutiny.

Manage sickness absence without delay

Where health issues affect performance, we step in early. Our hybrid absence management combines rapid remote triage with on-site clinical assessment where needed.

Support rehabilitation and return to work

We provide rehabilitation and return-to-work pathways, customised to the role and the individual. The focus is on safe reintegration and maintaining long-term workability.

On the absence side alone, the UK lost an estimated 148.9 million working days in 2024, averaging 4.4 days per worker. That’s not a “people problem”. That’s a planning problem, a capacity problem, and a margin problem.

What would change if you could get OH clarity in days, not weeks?

At DBOCC Health, we help UK employers get out of the cycle of delays, uncertainty, and repeat absence. We provide clinically led occupational health that’s designed to move quickly and land clearly, so HR and managers can make confident decisions without weeks of waiting or vague recommendations. We’ve been established for 10+ years and operate with independent clinical oversight so outcomes are fair, evidence-based, and defensible for both management and employees. Our governance and security controls are backed by SEQOHS-aligned processes and ISO 9001 + ISO 27001 accreditations.

Our Occupational Health Services

Health Surveillance

Long-term sickness cases drag on with no clear clinical direction. Employees are stuck waiting. Managers are left guessing. Reports arrive late and say just enough to delay decisions, not resolve them.

Sickness Absence Management

When sickness absence drifts, costs rise quickly. We manage cases through a hybrid clinical model that combines early triage, structured clinical review, and on-site input where role demands or recovery require it. The focus is on clear guidance, practical adjustments, and safe return-to-work planning that managers can act on without delay.

Why Choose DBOCC Health?

We're not asking you to trust us based on promises. We're asking you to book a 30-minute consultation where we'll review your current OH setup, calculate exactly what it's costing you, and show you the specific improvements our model would deliver for your business.

Clinical independence

We operate at arm's length. Every recommendation is evidence-based and defensible. Both your management and your employees can trust the outcomes.

Real-time dashboards showing every case status, every trend, every cost metric. No black box. No excuses.

Dedicated account manager

We operate at arm's length. Every recommendation is evidence-based and defensible. Both your management and your employees can trust the outcomes.

Real-time dashboards showing every case status, every trend, every cost metric. No black box. No excuses.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place!

You’re an HR leader watching absence drift

Long-term sickness cases drag on with no clear clinical direction. Employees are stuck waiting. Managers are left guessing. Reports arrive late and say just enough to delay decisions, not resolve them.

You’re an Operations leader carrying hidden compliance risk

Different sites follow different processes. HSE obligations exist on paper, but proving consistency across working environments feels uncomfortable, especially when an audit or incident is not theoretical.

You’re growing, but your OH provision hasn’t kept pace

More sites. More headcount. More referrals.Cases fall between systems that don’t talk to each other. Your provider struggles with volume, visibility, and practical delivery in the places work actually happens.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly are reports delivered?
In most cases, reports are delivered within 48 hours of the appointment. This is a contractual standard, not an aspiration. For urgent cases, same-day reporting is available. If a report is delayed, you are told why and when it will be issued, without the need for chasing.
Does this work for multi-site operations?
Yes. Our model is built for organisations operating across multiple locations. We deliver the same clinical standards everywhere, supported by on-site assessments where required and a consistent clinic network where appropriate. All sites sit within one system, with one point of accountability and no regional variation in quality or process.ricing scales with your company. Chat to our friendly team to find a solution that works for you.
Can this integrate with our HR systems?
Yes. Referrals can be submitted through your existing HR platform, with information flowing securely into our system. This avoids duplicate data entry and manual handling. Most integrations are straightforward and do not require a lengthy IT project.
How do you maintain clinical consistency across different clinicians?
At the moment, the only wayAll assessments and reports follow standardised templates and sector-specific protocols. Quality checks are built into the process before reports are released. This means outcomes are consistent regardless of which clinician is involved or where the assessment takes place, whether on site or through a clinic. to add additional information to invoices is to add the information to the workspace's name.
Is this just compliance support?
No. Compliance is a baseline requirement and we meet it through SEQOHS-aligned processes, structured governance, and clear audit trails. The wider value comes from faster clinical decisions, better absence control, reduced reliance on temporary cover, and visibility that allows issues to be managed early rather than reacted to late.
What if we need to scale quickly?
Our delivery model is designed to handle growth and fluctuation. We provide nationwide coverage, on-site capacity where required, and systems that can manage increased referral volumes without standards dropping. Adding new sites, increasing headcount, or managing seasonal demand can be absorbed without disruption.
Do you provide drug and alcohol testing?
Yes. This includes testing for safety-critical roles. Testing can be delivered on site or through our clinical network and is managed within the same system as our other occupational health services. Results are handled promptly and documented clearly so decisions can be made without delay.
